The Music of The Pearl
The last line in the book The Pearl, "And the music of the pearl drifted to a whisper and disappeared." symbols the memories of the pearl and what it has caused, and done to Kino and his family. The music of the pearl in the beginning of the book was happy and peaceful, and brought excitement to the family. they saw their baby going to school and learning to read and write. Even though the pearl was a great discovery for this family, it only caused the family for to be split apart. The pearl made the towns people treat Kino's family differently because of their founding of the pearl. They knew the pearl was worth, and that the family would receive a great amount of money. The towns people would do anything to get the money. The pearl brought greed into the people. When the pearl drifted back to the bottom of the ocean, it seemed almost peaceful and calm, as if nothing ever happened. The music of the pearl must have been mixture of opportunity and evil, excitement and strong.
